Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a House Attendant for The New Yorker Hotel in New York City. The position focuses on cleaning, floor care, carpet and furniture shampooing, and delivering items to guestrooms with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift heavy objects, and clear communication with guests and team members. This is a full-time, on-site position within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand during the entire shift.
• Effective written and verbal communication with guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Buff marble floors daily according to hotel standards.
• Shampoo carpets in public areas.
• Shampoo furniture as needed.
• Assist guests with luggage in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Handle Lost and Found items per standards.
• Clean guestrooms as needed.
• Know and assist in emergency procedures.
• Maintain hotel equipment in working order.
• Store hotel equipment properly.
• Complete special projects as assigned by Housekeeping Manager.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
