Position Overview
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overallleadership, strategic direction, and operational excellence of the IHG-brandedhotel. The GM ensures the delivery of exceptional guest experiences in linewith IHG brand standards while maximizing profitability, managing talent, andmaintaining strong relationships with owners, and guests. The ideal candidate is a person who leadsfrom the front.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Providestrong, visible leadership to all hotel departments, fostering ahigh-performance and guest-centric culture.
- Developand execute annual business plans, budgets, and strategic initiativesaligned with IHG objectives and ownership goals.
- Act asthe primary representative of the hotel to owners, corporate offices, andthe local community.
Operations Management
- Overseedaily hotel operations, ensuring compliance with IHG brand standards, AnantOperations metrics, policies, and procedures.
- Ensureexcellence in guest satisfaction, service quality, cleanliness, and safetyacross all departments.
- Monitorand improve operational efficiencies and service delivery.
Financial Performance
- Driverevenue growth through effective pricing, yield management, salesstrategies, and cost controls.
- Managebudgets, forecasts, and P&L performance.
- Analyzefinancial reports and KPIs to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
Guest Experience
- ChampionIHG’s service culture and brand promise to consistently exceed guestexpectations.
- Monitorguest feedback, satisfaction scores, and online reputation, implementingaction plans for continuous improvement.
- Personallyengage with VIP guests and handle escalated guest concerns when required.
- Respondto all guest feedback, online reviews and Concerto cases in a timely manner.
People & Talent Management
- Recruit,develop, coach, and retain a diverse and high-performing leadership team.
- Ensurecompliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and HRpolicies.
- Promotea culture of engagement, inclusion, learning, and career development.
Sales, Marketing & Community Relations
- Supportand drive sales, marketing, and revenue initiatives in collaboration withregional teams.
- Buildstrong relationships with key corporate accounts, travel partners, andlocal organizations.
- Activelypromote the hotel within the local community and hospitality industry.
- Performingparking lot shops and actively involving themselves in the local business communityto achieve more base business.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensurefull compliance with IHG standards, IHG required training, localregulations, health & safety, and security requirements.
- Managerisk, crisis situations, and emergency procedures effectively.
- Overseeproperty maintenance and asset protection.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’sdegree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or relatedfield (preferred).
- Minimumof 5–10 years of progressive hotel management experience, including seniorleadership roles.
- Priorexperience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager within aninternational hotel brand preferred.
- Strongfinancial acumen with proven P&L management experience.
- Experienceworking with hotel ownership groups and brand/franchise environments.
- Servesafe certification and CPO license are preferred.
- Mustbecome IHG GM certified within 6 months of employment.
