About ROOST Rainey & Paseo

ROOST Apartment Hotel, developed and managed by Method Co., is a collection of design-forward apartment hotels that bridge the comfort and flexibility of home with the service and amenities of a boutique hotel. Designed for both short and extended stays, ROOST provides thoughtfully furnished residences, personalized service, and a highly localized guest experience.

ROOST Rainey is located within Paseo, a premier residential and hospitality development in the heart of Austin's Rainey Street District. ROOST features 59 thoughtfully designed apartment-style accommodations ranging from studios to expansive multi-bedroom residences, offering guests the comforts of residential living alongside elevated hotel service.

As an integral part of the Paseo building, ROOST guests have access to an expanded lifestyle experience that extends beyond the hotel itself. The General Manager plays a critical role in ensuring ROOST operates seamlessly within the broader Paseo environment, partnering closely with building leadership, residential operations, engineering, security, and other stakeholders to deliver a cohesive experience for hotel guests and building residents alike.

Position Overview

Method Co. is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and highly motivated General Manager to lead ROOST Rainey at Paseo. The General Manager serves as the senior leader of the hotel and is responsible for the overall performance of ROOST, including daily operations, guest experience, team leadership, financial performance, property standards, and long-term business objectives.

In addition to leading the hotel operation, the General Manager will serve as a key liaison between ROOST and the broader Paseo building, ensuring strong communication and operational alignment across the mixed-use property. This individual will work closely with Paseo building management and partners on shared amenities, engineering and maintenance, security, building operations, resident and guest experience, and other areas where hotel and residential operations intersect.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader who balances operational excellence with a genuine passion for people and service. This individual will set the tone for the property, build and develop a high-performing team, maintain exceptional standards, and create an environment where guests, residents, and employees feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

  • Oversee Front Office, Concierge, Housekeeping, Maintenance/Engineering, and other hotel-level functions.
  • Ensure consistent execution of operating procedures, service standards, brand standards, and safety protocols.
  • Regularly inspect guest accommodations, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and shared areas impacting the ROOST guest journey.
  • Collaborate with Paseo building teams to ensure shared spaces and amenities consistently meet expectations for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and presentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operating procedures, efficiencies, guest satisfaction, and overall property performance.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and leadership coverage across the hotel operation.
  • Serve as the senior ROOST leader during significant guest, employee, operational, building, or emergency situations.
Paseo & Building Partnership
  • Serve as the primary hotel liaison between ROOST, Paseo building leadership, residential operations, and other property stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong, collaborative relationship with Paseo management to ensure alignment between hotel and broader building operations.
  • Coordinate closely on shared amenities, public spaces, engineering, maintenance, security, life safety, deliveries, access, and other operational functions.
  • Ensure ROOST guests experience Paseo as a seamless extension of their stay, with consistent standards of service and communication throughout the building.
  • Establish clear communication protocols between hotel and building teams to quickly address operational issues and guest or resident concerns.
  • Partner with Paseo leadership on building-wide initiatives, programming, events, and experiences where appropriate.
  • Anticipate and resolve situations where hotel and residential operations intersect, balancing the needs of ROOST guests, Paseo residents, and the overall property.
  • Represent ROOST in building meetings and maintain open communication regarding hotel occupancy, operational needs, events, VIP arrivals, and other activity that may impact the broader property.
  • Identify opportunities for ROOST and Paseo to collaborate in ways that enhance the overall guest and resident experience.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of building policies, emergency procedures, life-safety protocols, and shared operational responsibilities.

  • Personally assist with complex or sensitive guest concerns and ensure issues are resolved thoughtfully, professionally, and efficiently.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Austin market and Rainey Street neighborhood to ensure the team can provide thoughtful, locally relevant recommendations and experiences.
  • Foster relationships with local businesses, restaurants, cultural institutions, and neighborhood partners that enhance the guest experience.

  • Establish clear expectations and accountability while fostering a positive, collaborative, and service-driven workplace culture.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, mentorship, and professional development to department leaders and team members.
