Job summary

Choice Hotels International is seeking an Area Manager to support a portfolio of Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn properties across the central United States. The role focuses on analyzing performance, identifying opportunities, and delivering on-site and virtual consultations to improve guest satisfaction, revenue, and profitability.

The position requires five years of hotel leadership, strong analytical and consultative skills, and the ability to work remotely with periodic travel (about 10%).

Qualifications

• Five+ years of hotel-level leadership experience or equivalent.
• Experience analyzing performance data to improve operations.
• Experience consulting with hotel owners or operators.
• Proven record of supporting hotel-performance improvements.
• Ability to balance portfolio responsibilities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hotel performance and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement across the portfolio.
• Deliver on-site and virtual consultations using available tools and performance insights.
• Advise owners on strategies to boost guest satisfaction, revenue, and profitability.
• Develop action plans and provide timely follow-up with owners.
• Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and related systems.
• Monitor consultation effectiveness through feedback and adoption of actions.
• Stay updated on Choice programs, franchise requirements, and industry trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to connect owners with necessary resources.
• Communicate property-performance trends and competitive intelligence to leadership.
• Support franchise growth by identifying opportunities and developing leads.
