Job summary

Sofitel New York is seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to manage day-to-day Finance efficiencies and assist the Director of Finance in leading the department. The role requires strong accounting, communication and analytical skills, with a focus on budgeting, reporting and compliance.

The position emphasizes developing the hotel’s financial plans, ensuring accurate reporting, and guiding the team through GAAP standards while collaborating with operations and ownership.

Qualifications

• Accounting designation or degree in finance/business.
• Experience in finance with leadership roles.
• Knowledge of GAAP and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

• Support management with policy enforcement and operational assistance.
• Supervise accounting department daily operations including payroll, AR/AP, cash, audits, and purchasing.
• Assist Director of Finance in ensuring policy compliance and staff understanding of procedures.
• Develop relationships with department heads to provide financial support and planning insights.
• Lead month-end close, budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial statements preparation.
• Prepare timely financial and management reports for hotel management, corporate, and owners.
