Job summary

The Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Portland, Oregon, seeks a Director of Finance to lead all hotel finance functions including payroll, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls. The role requires strong leadership and the ability to deliver accurate financial reports to leadership and owners.

This position oversees cost controls, staff development, and cross-department collaboration to safeguard assets and drive profitability.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of all hotel accounting functions and subordinates' roles.
• Requires advanced knowledge of accounting, finance and hospitality professions.
• Requires ability to analyze activities or information and derive logical conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Assist leaders' departments and identify risks with actionable solutions.
• Develop annual operating budget, operating plan and financial goals.
• Set priorities for department heads with quarterly action plans and timelines.
• Forecast monthly operating staff and costs in line with sales and costs.
• Review financial statements monthly and approve expenses in all categories.
• Promote morale and loyalty within the department and hotel through leadership and coaching.
