Job summary

Nine Orchard is a Nine Orchard (New York) hotel property led by MML Hospitality. The Director of Finance will supervise accounting, close the books, and ensure accurate reporting and compliance. This hands‑on leadership role partners with the GM and F&B leadership to turn numbers into strategic decisions that support hospitality excellence and strong financial performance. The ideal candidate brings 6+ years in hotel accounting, a collaborative mindset, and superb communication.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive hotel accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of hotel and restaurant systems.
• High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to improve the bottom line.
• Motivating leader with strong communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Hospitality (preferred).
• Experience with Alice, Infor, Toast, Shopify, BevSpot (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supervise all accounting functions for the property.
• Prepare financial statements within the closing schedule and in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
• Maintain monthly balance sheet analysis with full supporting detail.
• Ensure timely financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Ensure integrity and efficiency of the hotel's financial systems and data processing.
• Analyze financial results and advise the General Manager and Executive Team.
• Prepare forecasts and cash flow statements.
• Review department budgets and forecasts for achievability.
• Monitor trends affecting financial performance.
• Establish treasury, tax compliance, and internal controls.
• Partner with GM and department heads to achieve goals.
• Coach department heads on financial responsibilities.
• Maintain communication with corporate finance.
• Deliver accurate monthly close and annual budget/forecast processes.
• Strengthen internal controls and cash management.
• Equip department heads to understand financial results.
