Job summary

The Nines is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the hotel’s financial operations, including payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The role requires strong leadership, timely financial reporting, and compliance with regulations across federal, state, and local levels.

The successful candidate will guide department heads, implement cost controls, and ensure profitability while fostering a positive, growth-oriented environment within Sage Hospitality Group's luxury portfolio.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of all hotel accounting functions.
• Requires advanced knowledge of accounting, finance and hospitality.
• Ability to analyze activities and data to reach logical conclusions.
• Experience with office management, bank reconciliations, state and federal reports, staff training, and balance sheet preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in department operations; identify risks and propose solutions.
• Develop annual operating budget and financial goals; control revenues and costs.
• Set priorities for department heads and follow up on implementation.
• Monthly forecasting of staff and cost expenditures; align with forecasted sales.
• Review financial statements; approve expenses and ensure cost efficiency.
• Promote morale and staff development; maintain open-door policy.
• Conduct performance appraisals and improvement plans for management.
• Ensure hotel management meets job requirements; enforce cost controls.
• Review sales activities and market mix; engage key accounts.
