Job summary

Columbia Hospitality seeks a Director of Finance to lead financial reporting, audits, and compliance for Hotel Vance-Portland, OR. The role drives cash flow management, cost controls, and fiscal discipline across the hospitality operations.

The ideal candidate brings a BA in accounting or business, 5+ years in hospitality accounting, and strong MS Excel/Office skills. CPA or advanced degree is a plus; a strong leadership presence is essential for our values-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting from four-year college or university, or four years related experience and/or training.
• Five years of accounting experience in the Hospitality Industry and/or CHAE certification is desired.
• Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and county tax laws and filings.
• Experience using different accounting software is a plus.
• Well organized, detail oriented with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under time pressure and extensive hours.
• Have a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic demeanor.
• Superior Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and handle multiple tasks in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, audits, and compliance to ensure accuracy and transparency.
• Manage accounting processes, cash flow, and cost controls, ensuring fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency.
• Strong command of accounting principles: GAAP/IFRS knowledge is a must for financial compliance.
• Risk management expertise: Assessing and mitigating financial risks, including market trends and economic factors.
• On a monthly basis, maintain balance sheet analysis with full supporting detail.
• Annually supervise audits and tax returns with external audit team.
• Ensure integrity and efficiency of computerized data processing functions.
• Prepare and submit all financial reports, budgets, and forecasts on time.
