Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an experienced Hotel Financial Controller to lead the finance and accounting function for Hyatt Place Toronto/Mississauga Centre and Luxe Convention Centre. This hands-on leader will partner with the General Manager, Ownership, and external providers to safeguard financial integrity and drive performance.

Balance rigorous accounting with hospitality know-how, build strong controls, and transition finance responsibilities to a new owner-managed model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive finance or accounting experience with financial reporting and controls.
• Hands-on ledger, month-end closing, AP/AR, payroll reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Experience with financial systems and advanced Excel; CPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead property-level finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Oversee monthly/year-end closing, GL integrity, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with external bookkeeping, accounting, and tax providers for accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain reporting by department and segment (Rooms, F&B, Restaurant, Banquets, Convention Centre).
• Support compliance with accounting standards, Canadian tax, and regulatory obligations.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, procedures, and audit trails.
• Oversee revenue reconciliation across PMS, POS, events, processors, and bank accounts.
• Monitor AR, deposits, payables, cash, payroll, and outstanding balances.
