Job summary

Highgate, at M Social Hotel in New York, seeks an Engineer, Level 1 to keep the property in excellent condition with minimal guest disruption. You will perform hands-on maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general trades.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, and air conditioning, reading blueprints, repairing pools, lighting, and fixtures, and documenting maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel or related field experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school and/or college coursework in related field helpful.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning systems; replace components as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and electrical equipment.
• Take readings on equipment and record results.
• Test and service pools, spas, and water systems.
• Repair plumbing, lighting, and fixtures; repaint as required.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to locate and fix issues.
