Job summary

Le Parker Meridien in New York is seeking an Assistant Manager for Engineering to oversee a dedicated team. The successful candidate will ensure effective maintenance and compliance in a busy hotel environment.

Key responsibilities include managing work schedules, training staff, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Applicants should have a relevant degree and several years of experience in commercial building maintenance, preferably within a hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Possess an Associate’s Degree or higher in Building/Facilities Management.
• At least three years experience in commercial building maintenance.
• Experience managing or supervising a union staff.
• Knowledge of Saflok, Minibar, HotelExpert, CCTV.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
• Ability to read technical plans.
• Excellent communication skills: verbal and written.
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Fire Guard.
• Low Pressure Boiler Operation and Sprinkler Standpipe Certificates.

Responsibilities

• Create schedules and delegate tasks to staff.
• Act as a mentor and coach to staff.
• Inspect and follow-up work orders for accuracy.
• Maintain records and reports for preventative maintenance.
• Communicate with other departments for work requests.
• Participate in regulatory inspections.
• Work in high-pressure situations with minimal supervision.
• Use troubleshooting skills to solve problems.
• Respond discreetly to guest inquiries/complaints.
• Display a professional, courteous demeanor.
