Job summary

RIU Plaza Manhattan in New York City seeks an Administrative Engineering Supervisor to ensure guest service, brand, and sustainability standards. You will conduct room inspections, coordinate repairs, manage preventive maintenance programs, and oversee vendor contracts while providing leadership in the absence of senior management.

Your role includes maintaining logs, supporting inventory, and performing general office duties while collaborating with Engineering leadership to meet performance

Qualifications

• Previous engineering or maintenance experience preferred, or equivalent technical training.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with computer-based maintenance systems (e.g., Staff App).
• Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to guest service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee small engineering projects and provide timely progress reports.
• Monitor and support the hotel’s Preventive Maintenance Program, including planning, scheduling, and evaluating tasks.
• Maintain accurate repair logs, preventive maintenance records, and ensure compliance with all service contracts.
• Conduct inspections and ensure all work complies with applicable local, state, and federal codes.
• Ensure house calls and guest-related incidents are resolved and closed in Staff app within required timeframes
• Manage and coordinate vendor bids, quotes, contracts, and invoices for engineering services.
• Maintain the property operations logs, and assist with inventory control and supply ordering.
• Perform general office duties including filing, document management, and telephone support.
• Coordinate daily assignments for Engineering staff in collaboration with Engineering leadership.
• Support departmental performance goals, including improving guest satisfaction metrics.
• Follow all RIU sustainability guidelines and initiatives.
• Serve as acting supervisor in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.
