Job summary

HVMG – Hospitality Ventures Management Group is seeking a hands-on Director of Engineering in Birmingham, AL. You will lead maintenance operations, supervise staff, implement preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and brand standards for a guest-ready property.

You will report to the General Manager and drive repairs, upgrades, and compliance across all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. A strong technical background and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• A college degree or two years hotel experience.
• Five years training as a stationary Engineer and supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing and electrical codes, fire codes, and local mechanical codes.
• Experience with blue prints and wiring schematics.

Responsibilities

• Be the backbone of hotel operations, ensuring systems and equipment run smoothly.
• Manage maintenance staff, oversee repairs/upgrades, and ensure safety compliance.
• Report to the General Manager and maintain departmental standards.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance across building and guestrooms.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies and manage procurement.
• Coordinate carpentry, electrical, plumbing and related maintenance tasks.
