Job summary

The Sabal House, managed by Hay Creek Hotels, is seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee all technical and maintenance operations on the property and grounds. You will manage engineering staff, schedules, preventive maintenance and vendor relations to deliver reliable, safe surroundings for guests.

Responsibilities include budget adherence, code compliance, safety programs, and prompt response to guest needs.

Qualifications

3+ years in Engineering/Maintenance, hotel environment preferred.
HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing or Construction experience a plus.
Familiar with web-based maintenance work order programs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel.
Strong communication, leadership and management skills.
On-call 24/7 for emergencies; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all technical, operational and maintenance of the property and grounds.
Lead engineering/maintenance staff including scheduling, coaching, hiring and training.
Develop preventive maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.
Control expenses, review bids, and manage vendor relationships within budget.
Ensure compliance with codes, permits and safety regulations; respond to guest issues promptly.
Coordinate safety, energy conservation, and loss prevention programs with staff.
Monitor wage/hour compliance and maintain accurate records.
