Job summary

The Doubletree by Hilton Austin seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to lead engineering operations, oversee preventive maintenance of all systems, and ensure compliance with brand standards.

You will manage life safety, monitor HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, supervise staff, and lead capital projects while maintaining budgets and safety. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits through HEI Hotels & Resorts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience at a comparable location.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry expertise.
• Hotel industry experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and budgeting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the implementation of all property and equipment preventive maintenance and repairs and monitor life safety systems and utilities.
• Administer the engineering department in compliance with standards and local codes while protecting assets, guests and associates.
• Manage engineering-related capital projects and maintain budgeted guidelines.
• Maintain and repair hotel mechanical/electrical systems and FF&E, grounds, pool, etc.
• Tour the hotel complex daily to identify items needing engineering actions and train managers in life safety areas.
