Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a seasoned Chief Engineer for the Doubletree by Hilton Austin to oversee preventive maintenance, life safety, and mechanical/electrical systems. You will manage capital projects, supervise engineering staff, and ensure compliance with brand standards and codes.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands-on leadership in hotel engineering, broad trades knowledge, and strong budgeting skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in hotel engineering or equivalent building trades.
• Experience managing preventive maintenance and capital projects.
• Knowledge of life safety systems and compliance with codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand and monitor all building-related systems: Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Life Safety, IT.
• Oversee preventive maintenance of guestrooms, equipment, public spaces, and components.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate engineering staff; assign tasks and follow up.
• Maintain records for RandM Budget, PM Programs, and capital projects.
• Ensure safe, clean, energy-efficient Engineering spaces and operations.
• Lead tours to identify items requiring engineering or other actions.
