Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks a Director of Engineering for Thompson Austin/tommie Austin, leading the maintenance and operations of the hotel’s engineering and facilities. The role requires independent work with senior leadership and corporate interfaces, overseeing HVAC, carpentry, and preventative maintenance to sustain top-tier service.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse teams and vendors.
• 6+ years of progressive hotel or building management experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in senior facility management roles and budget oversight.
• Proficiency with MS Office; attention to safety and standards.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and negotiate revisions with vendors and contractors.
• Prepare budgets and track progress and costs for maintenance projects.
• Coordinate with supervisory personnel, owners, and design professionals on projects.
• Explain plans and contract terms to staff and clients as needed.
• Direct activities related to maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
• Ensure compliance with building and safety codes; interface with code officials when required.
• Oversee utility systems and capital expenditures; manage equipment selection and purchasing.
• Maintain communications with Corporate Staff and Hyatt leadership.
