Job summary

Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering to maintain the hotel’s building and all mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, ensuring energy efficiency and preventative maintenance. The role requires overseeing a team, coordinating with other departments, and upholding safety and quality standards.

Candidates should have 5–7 years in a large hotel or similar facility with supervisory experience, a boiler and air conditioning license, strong budgeting

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5–7 years in a major hotel, hospital, or building with 4 years supervisory experience.
• Must possess a first class operating engineer's license in boilers and air conditioning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to lead teams.
• Experience with budgeting, bids, and adherence to city codes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HotSOS maintenance software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct walk-throughs to ensure safe, efficient operation of all hotel facilities.
• Supervise staff, participate in hiring and training, and ensure safety compliance.
• Adhere to purchasing policies; oversee bids, budgets, and contractor management.
• Maintain Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs; train other departments.
• Prepare reports for General Manager and department heads; manage payroll and scheduling.
• Oversee water treatment and daily maintenance activities; lead by example.
