Job summary

Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington, DE seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering to oversee hotel maintenance, lead capital projects, and ensure safe, efficient operations. You’ll manage guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house facilities, aligning maintenance with the property’s fresh, high-standard appeal.

You’ll supervise a team, coordinate with department heads, and drive preventative programs while ensuring tools, equipment, and hazardous materials are properly handled.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a hotel.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems (HVAC, plumbing) throughout the hotel.
• Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis.
• Lead capital projects and property rehabilitation efforts.
• Coordinate with hotel department heads to address maintenance needs and ensure timely response to internal requests.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and lead all maintenance staff.
