Job summary

San Luis Resort, Spa and Conference Center in Texas seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering to support the Director of Engineering in all administrative, financial, and operating aspects of the hotel’s engineering division. The role ensures the safe and profitable operation of the hotel.

The position requires leadership in staff scheduling, preventative maintenance, life-safety inspections, handling guest service requests promptly, alarm response, and participation in energy conservation

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Experience in facilities management within a hotel or related field is required or a combination listed in the education options.

Responsibilities

• Create, approve and post all Engineering staff schedules.
• Create and implement a preventative maintenance program for all hotel equipment.
• Ensure that all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per standards.
• Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled promptly and courteously.
• Monitor alarms, determine emergency status, and report findings to Front Desk; take action as needed.
• Assist with special projects and renovations when required.
• Participate in M.O.D. program.
• Engage in energy conservation programs.
• Review guest and meeting planner feedback to identify and correct issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA).
• Administer all vendor contracts.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

4-year college degree + 1 year related management experience

2-year college degree + 3+ years related management experience
