Job summary

The Assistant Chief Engineer at Avion Hospitality oversees maintenance, service and repair of hotel equipment, supporting guest satisfaction, cost control and profitability. He/she ensures all rooms and public spaces meet Avion Hospitality standards, and participates in the Preventative Maintenance program.

Exempt managers direct the work of at least 3 full-time associates and apply discretion and independent judgement more than 50% of the time; overtime may apply for OEM associates.

Qualifications

• Education and certifications as required by federal, state or local agents.
• Progressive hotel operations experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Ability to convey information clearly and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, service and repair of all hotel equipment and systems.
• Direct the Preventative Maintenance program and ensure standards for rooms and public spaces.
• Supervise and train hourly engineering staff and coordinate scheduling.
• Assist in budgeting, cost control and energy conservation initiatives.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure safety procedures are followed.
