Job summary

Firman Solutions’ Director of Engineering will lead the hotel’s engineering team in maintenance, upgrades and purchases of HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems. The role oversees Life Safety and departmental operations to ensure guest safety and service standards.

The candidate should have at least five years of leadership in building maintenance within luxury or boutique hotel environments, strong English communication, and proficiency with Microsoft software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years previous building maintenance leadership experience required or prior hotel/resort maintenance experience in a full-service luxury or boutique environment required.
• Prior experience using Microsoft programming required; familiarity with Google Apps or other web-based tools helpful.
• Must communicate professionally in English, written and verbal.
• Ability to multi-task while prioritizing guest needs.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Leads Engineering team in maintenance, upgrades, installations and purchases of HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Oversees Engineering department and Life Safety aspects across the building.
• Conducts pre-shift meetings with Engineering and Security staff.
• Communicates effectively with staff through reviews, training and meetings.
• Motivates and develops team members.
• Creates preventive maintenance and inspection programs complying with safety regulations and codes.
• Liaises with third-party contracted labor leaders.
• Participates in and oversees Safety Program.
