Highgate Hotels in Fort Walton Beach is hiring a Cook to prepare all food items for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets according to standardized recipes, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

The role requires culinary experience, the ability to stand throughout shifts, lift up to 50 pounds, and work flexible hours. You will support multiple kitchen stations, manage production, and follow health regulations; a competitive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hospitality experience preferred.
• Culinary experience required.
• Flexible, long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work - can lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Ability to withstand temperature variations hot and cold.
• Have thorough knowledge of menus and preparation per hotel standards.
• Proficiency in cooking techniques: charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, saute, braising, roasting and par-cooking.
• Knowledge of herbs and spices and proper use of each.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
• Prepare and complete necessary food and station prep prior to opening of the restaurant to serve guests promptly.
• Prepare and display buffet items according to hotel standards.
• Recognize quality standards in vegetables, fish, dairy and meat products.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen environment with proper handling, storage, and sanitation.
• Prepare food for Banquets and Employee Cafeteria as required.
• Follow hotel standard recipes; assist in other kitchen stations as needed.
• Breakdown buffets and kitchen line, storing food and equipment properly.
• Support any position in the Kitchen as needed.
• Follow Health Department and Company regulations on food and storage safety.
