Job summary

Double Tree by Hilton Madison East is seeking a skilled Hotel Cook to support our busy kitchen. Starting pay is $18.00/hour, with higher wages possible for experienced candidates. Flexible Monday–Friday and weekend/holiday availability is required, with both morning and evening shifts available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of culinary kitchen experience.
• Hotel or resort kitchen experience preferred.
• Flexible availability including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks food with attention to plate presentation.
• Fully knowledgeable of menu, recipes, procedures, plating, portions, and special instructions.
• Maintain FIFO inventory and date all incoming products.
• Keep kitchen lines stocked with items and utensils for service.
• Maintain clean working surfaces and equipment; ensure sanitation.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Prepares and cooks food, ensuring attractive plate presentation
• Possess complete knowledge of menu and recipes, including preparation procedures, plating, garnishment, portions size and presentation / special handling instructions
• Maintains first in / first out inventory controls and dates all incoming products
• Keeps the lines and storage stocked with all items and utensils needed for service
• Maintains a clean kitchen by cleaning all work surfaces used in food preparation on an ongoing basis, as well as the kitchen equipment used daily
• Maintains all food storage areas, dry and refrigerated, organized and clean
