Job summary

Hampton Inn Miami Coconut Grove Hotel is seeking a skilled Chief Engineer to lead a small facilities team and hands-on in maintaining hotel systems. You will diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, review work orders, and plan ongoing maintenance programs to keep the property running smoothly.

The role involves budgeting support, bid solicitation from contractors, and mentoring staff while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• 3 years in a maintenance role involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Ability to motivate coworkers and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
• Reviewing maintenance problems and work orders to prioritize tasks.
• Monitor and inspect assigned work and the property for needs.
• Plan and execute ongoing maintenance programs.
• Maintain the hotel’s pool including chemicals and filters.
• Assist with budgeting and capital expenditure planning.
• Solicit contractor bids and ensure work meets specs.
• Recruit, mentor, and train facilities staff.
• Coordinate with health, safety, fire, and building inspectors.
