Job summary

Hampton Inn Miami Coconut Grove Hotel, operated by Hospitality America, is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance and lead a small facilities team. You will diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems, plan preventive programs, monitor work orders, and manage budget considerations for the property.

You’ll coordinate with inspectors, recruit and mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and respond to guest concerns with urgency and professionalism.

Qualifications

• 3 years in a maintenance role with HVAC/plumbing/electrical experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to lead and develop a team while working hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
• Prioritize and schedule work orders based on problems and complaints.
• Monitor and inspect assigned work and inspect property for needs.
• Plan and execute ongoing maintenance programs.
• Recruit, mentor, train, and support facilities staff.
• Coordinate with inspectors to ensure codes compliance.
