Job summary

Stonebridge is seeking a Chief Engineer in Needham, MA to oversee hotel maintenance operations, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and energy controls. You will manage maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring safety standards and timely project completion to support guest satisfaction and hotel operations.

The role requires 3–5 years in hotel engineering or maintenance management, strong budgeting and purchasing experience, and the ability to coordinate with other departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in hotel engineering or maintenance management.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, and energy controls.
• Proven ability to manage maintenance staff and contractors, including hiring and training.
• Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and purchasing for maintenance operations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle emergencies.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times.
• Supervise maintenance operations across refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, and energy systems.
• Monitor energy consumption for efficiency.
• Oversee contracted services to meet hotel standards and guest expectations.
• Supervise maintenance staff including hiring, training, evaluations, and scheduling.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of maintenance projects per specifications.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping and Security on operations, key control, and safety procedures.
• Assist with project planning and work with architects and contractors on bids and blueprints.
• Manage maintenance agreements and contracts, including landscaping and snow removal.
• Develop and maintain maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel equipment.
• Perform inventory management, purchasing duties, and budget development for the department.
