Job summary

Hotel Irvine seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering department under the Director of Engineering. The role oversees day-to-day operations, safety, and the maintenance of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, and high-rise systems to ensure guest comfort and building reliability.

The ideal candidate has five years in facilities maintenance in hospitality, plus three years in management, strong communication, and a proactive, hands-on approach with little supervision;

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality industry or similar industry mandatory with at least five years in progressive facilities maintenance experience in a hotel or related field and at least three years in related management experience.
• Mathematical Skills – Basic Math
• Language Skills - Bilingual in English/Spanish is helpful.
• Reasoning Ability - Deductive/Inductive Reasoning, analysis and resourcefulness to know what is needed to accomplish a task
• Other Skills and Abilities - Communication, hospitality mindset, organization, ability to handle multiple tasks, computer skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper functionality, safety, and emergency systems of the facility and exterior.
• Supervise and train engineers in customer service, operation procedures, and follow up with completed work with the supervisor.
• Assist the director with administrative, financial, and operational aspects of the hotel.
• Collaborate with hotel departments to develop and achieve maintenance plans.
