Job summary

Sun Hill Properties Inc. is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering Department for a hotel property in Simi Valley, CA. You will oversee maintenance, asset preservation, capital projects, regulatory compliance, and energy management to ensure safe, efficient operations and guest satisfaction.

You will manage a team, coordinate with departments, and drive preventive maintenance programs, safety, and budgeting in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
• 5–10 years progressive experience in engineering or facilities management, with 2+ years in supervision.
• Experience in full-service hotel or high-volume property preferred.
• Proven track record managing building systems and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct maintenance, repair, and operation of all hotel facilities and equipment.
• Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
• Perform inspections and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure timely completion of work orders and projects.
• Lead and train engineering staff and supervise workloads.
• Maintain records, permits, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate repairs, renovations, and capital projects.
• Manage contractors and purchases for tools and supplies.
