Job summary

Sun Hill Properties Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to keep guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities in peak condition.

You will perform preventive maintenance, handle repairs, and support larger technical initiatives under management guidance. The role requires hands-on expertise across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems, with strong time management and guest-service focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school coursework preferred.
• 3–6 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance.
• Experience in a full-service hotel or similar commercial environment preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance and independent repairs across multiple trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure guest room comfort.
• Address HVAC, electrical, plumbing with minimal guest disruption.
• Identify issues and recommend proactive repairs to prevent guest dissatisfaction.
• Maintain lighting, climate control in lobbies, meeting spaces, dining outlets and recreation areas.
• Support event setups and breakdowns by ensuring reliable power, climate, and equipment functionality.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify safety or appearance deficiencies.
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs as directed.
• Execute PM schedules and close work orders accurately.
• Participate in emergency response and on-call rotations.
• Adhere to hotel standards, safety protocols, and sustainability practices.
