Job summary

OCI Hospitality in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Chief Engineer to maintain the hotel’s physical condition and lead the maintenance team. You will oversee preventative maintenance, respond to mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues, and ensure safety and quality standards across the property.

You will manage the maintenance budget, coordinate with contractors, train staff, and uphold brand expectations to deliver exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

Experience leading a maintenance or facilities team in a hotel or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and project documents.
Proficiency with computer-based facility management tools.

Responsibilities

Performs and assigns preventative maintenance programs for equipment and areas of the hotel.
Performs repairs of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building components.
Oversees maintenance department staffing, scheduling, and coaching.
Coordinates maintenance projects with outside contractors and vendors.
Maintains knowledge of fire safety equipment, pool, elevator operations, and related codes.
Ensures compliance with health, safety and security standards and procedures.
Manages department budget, tools, and supplies; processes PO/invoices.
Collaborates with leadership and other departments to support operations.
