Job description

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Bell Person to join our team at the Hotel Northampton. As a Bell Person, you will be the first face that our guests see upon arrival and the last one they encounter when they depart. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting guests with their luggage, providing information about the hotel and local attractions, and ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the property.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Greet guests upon arrival and departure with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  2. Assist guests with luggage to and from their rooms, ensuring their belongings are handled with care.
  3. Provide guests with information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
  4. Coordinate with the front desk and other departments to ensure smooth guest arrivals and departures.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized bell desk and lobby area.
  6. Assist guests with transportation arrangements, including taxis, shuttles, and car rentals.
  7. Offer personalized concierge services, including dining recommendations and activity bookings.
  8. Ensure security and proper handling of guest property and luggage.
  9. Respond to guest inquiries and requests promptly and efficiently.
  10. Assist in maintaining inventory of bell carts and other equipment.
  11. Follow all safety and security procedures to ensure the welfare of guests and staff.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by management to enhance guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is a plus.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  5. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs.) and stand for long periods.
  7. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  8. A positive attitude and a passion for providing exceptional service.
