Job summary

Holiday Inn Milwaukee Riverfront by IHG is seeking a friendly bartender who can create a welcoming bar experience. You will take orders, mix cocktails, recommend beers and wines, and keep the bar area clean in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has high school or GED, strong customer service, excellent time management and communication skills, and prior food service experience. Availability to work nights and weekends encouraged. Experience in bar inventory is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

As a busy restaurant, we need a bartender with a positive customer service mindset who can ensure patrons have a wonderful time at the bar. Your duties will include taking customer orders, preparing a range of conventional and unique cocktails, offering beer and wine recommendations, and maintaining the cleanliness of the bar area at all times. Responsibilities:

• Perform all restocking and cleaning activities as directed, including opening and closing duties
• Check customers age by verifying identification cards and serve alcoholic beverages to patrons per federal, state, local, and company laws and regulations
• Responsible for inventory, ordering and stocking of all wine, liquor, and beer. Maintain an inventory of glassware and promptly communicate any shortages to management
• Ensure that all customer checks and tabs are paid as well as record daily sales total and enter into point of sale system
• Take patron orders and deliver a variety of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages including wine, beer, liquor, and mixed drinks

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have completed high school or received similar certification (GED)
• Proven customer service experience with a strong patron-focused mentality
• Outstanding time management and organizational skills
• Prior food service industry experience is highly desired
• Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers
