Job summary

Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa is seeking a bartender to efficiently prepare and serve beverages in a courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities include maintaining bar supplies, handling cash and MICROS, checking IDs, and upselling drinks and food to guests. A Food Handler’s Certification is required and the full‑time position offers the opportunity to work in a bustling hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication with guests and staff.

• Ability to resolve guest issues promptly and professionally.
• Strong problem solving and memory for drink ingredients and garnishes.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to work varying shifts.
• Familiarity with MICROS or POS systems and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with all liquor varieties, recipes, prices and proper glassware.
• Anticipate guest needs and maintain positive guest relations.
• Resolve guest complaints and ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain bar supplies and prepare daily requisitions.
• Know drink recipes, prices and beverages available.
• Check IDs when appropriate and enforce age requirements.
• Handle cash, discounts, and MICROS with accuracy.
• Promote upselling of liquor and food items.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines and complete sidework.
• Collaborate with team to deliver courteous service.
