McKibbon is seeking a banquet server to assist with event setup, service, and breakdown in a fast-paced hospitality environment in Savannah, GA. You will carry and serve food and beverages, maintain cleanliness, and respond to guest needs with professionalism.

The role requires knowledge of alcohol service guidelines, a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays, and a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences. Prior banquet or catering experience is preferred.

What Makes a McKibbon Banquet Server?The hotel Banquet Service is responsible for preparing coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in Banquet Event Order. Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts and cordial carts. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Ensure courses are cleared and tables are properly cleaned. Respond to and try to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements. Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation. Monitor tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas. Bus tables by removing and separating tableware, plate ware, glassware, and flatware.A Day in the Life:You will carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from pantry to serving counters.You will set up attractive food displays and maintain cleanliness to ensure food safety.You will wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths.You will scrape and stack dirty dishes and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning.You will run the dishes through dishwasher and ensure all sanitation practices are followedYou will clean up spilled food, drink or broken dishes and remove trash.You will maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean glassware, dishes, or trays.You will fill beverage and ice dispensers.You will stock serving areasYou will locate and provide items requested by guests.You will clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in pantry or breakfast area and mop or vacuum floors.You will be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.You will practice safe work habits and use required safety equipment.You will ensure overall guest satisfaction.You will perform other duties as requested by managementResponsible for event set up, service and breakdown.Reports to Banquet CaptainEmbrace the McKibbon Guiding Principles: Think Bigger, Love Your Community, Do the Right Thing, Support Each Other, Make a Lasting Impression.Job Requirements:Be available for events as scheduled with proper notice (Hours may Vary depending on business needs).Banquet Bartending experience preferredPrevious experience as a banquet/catering server preferredThe ability to work a flexible schedule, including shift work, weekends, and holidaysThe legal ability to serve alcohol in the State/ProvinceKnowledge of state and local guidelines regarding service of alcoholKnowledge of drink preparationComputational skills to process guest paymentsCourse work or certification/education in restaurant or business field are highly desiredFood safety certification and/or alcohol service training recommendedThe ability to lift trays of beverages or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. on a regular basisThe ability to help create an energized bar atmosphere through friendly and personalized serviceThe ability to anticipate customer needs, and change course of action accordinglyIdeal Skills & Qualities:The drive to approach each guest interaction with the mindset of exceeding guest expectationsEmbracing the culture, and personifying it in daily interactions with guests and team membersContributing to a fun, energized and comfortable working environment as an active member of the teamOverseeing the look and feel of your area and ensuring that the cleanliness of the bar and its surroundings are at their peak at all timesBeing a motivated self-starterBeing conscientious and driven to consistently serve the guests with the utmost professionalism and courtesyPerks & Benefits Beyond the Basics:We know that hospitality starts from within, and that’s why we value the employee experience as much as we value our guests’ experience.
