Job summary

Landmark Hotel Group’s Comfort Inn On The Ocean in Kill Devil Hills, NC is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer. This hands-on leadership role focuses on guest satisfaction through reliable building systems, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs.

You will receive daily work assignments from the Chief Engineer, supervise maintenance teams, and manage materials and budgets to uphold quality standards and a welcoming guest experience for our oceanfront property.

Qualifications

• Three years experience in a hotel or commercial setting.
• Journeyman experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing or HVAC trade.
• Knowledge and experience in budgeting and expense control.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer and review priorities and special projects.
• Active management in the supervision of all work and repairs being performed.
• Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.
• Complete responsibility for maintaining the hotel's appearance, equipment and systems. This is a hands on position that requires active, vigorous leadership.
• Focus on quality, service standards, and the company mission statement is of paramount importance.
• Perform electrical, plumbing, preventative maintenance to guest rooms and public area work orders.
• Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces according to hotel requirements.
