Job summary

Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor, part of HEI Hotels and Resorts, seeks a Staff Accountant - Accounts Receivable to support the Controller in managing receivables, city ledger, and related reconciliations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
• Accounting and Hotel experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to compile facts and figures.
• Ability to operate personal computer and calculator.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Sort and verify Night Audit work (receivables focus) and reconcile banquet extensions.
• Post city ledger payments in PMS; reconcile and bill city ledger accounts.
• Follow-up billing and collect on uncollectible accounts; inform Controller.
• Reconcile credit card backups to General Cashier Summary; bill credit cards.
• Set up new accounts per credit policy.
• Assist in reconciling open account status items.
• Input General Cashier Summary and maintain binder.
• File and distribute credit card cancellations and warnings.
• Process and follow-up on returned checks; record reconciliations.
• Verify purchasing procedures and ensure PO validity and pricing.
• Route invoices with PO to approvers for timely payment.
• Process approved invoices with signatures and backups.
• Pay hotel invoices timely; ensure discounts and correct coding.
• Handle vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements.
• Maintain open/paid/voided invoices files; log manual checks.
• Interface checks and log manual checks to Controller.
• Adhere to attendance rules and be available regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
