Job summary

Hilton Honolulu seeks an experienced 1st Class Operating Engineer to manage the hotel’s mechanical systems and ensure guest experiences stay seamless. You will respond to equipment issues, perform troubleshooting, and oversee preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.

You’ll document repairs, train and supervise maintenance staff, and ensure Life Safety Systems meet federal, state, local and company standards, upholding Hilton’s hospitality leadership.

Qualifications

• 1st Class Operating Engineer certification or license (preferred).
• Experience maintaining hotel mechanical systems and Life Safety Systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and team supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests: quickly handle guest and team work orders and emergency requests related to non-functioning machinery.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs: diagnose and address equipment issues to maintain functionality.
• Conduct preventive maintenance: carry out scheduled tasks to extend equipment life.
• Document maintenance activities: record repairs and flag issues requiring attention.
• Supervise and develop the team: train, schedule, and supervise maintenance staff.
• Uphold regulatory standards: monitor Life Safety Systems to meet laws and Hilton standards.
