Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Hot Work Coordinator to manage and coordinate all shipboard hot work permits and notifications during ship repair projects. You will work with ships force, contractors, and project teams to ensure safety, schedule adherence, and proper documentation.

The role requires familiarity with Navsea standards, strong communication, and experience in a shipyard environment. Full-time position with comprehensive benefits and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hot work process and requirements in accordance with Navsea standards.
• Minimum 2 years work experience performing contractor work in ship repair, exposed to hot work permit requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational skills for coordinating with ships force, contractors, and management.
• Ability to review permits for safety compliance and deconflict daily hot work.
• Familiarity with IPS and shipboard safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate hot work notification and execution for contractor hot work on ship repair projects.
• Receive, manage, and process hot work permits with ships force and contractor personnel.
• Maintain daily logs of hot work and document start/end times for shifts.
• Attend daily meetings to address hot work conflicts and safety concerns.
