Job summary

Backyard Masters in New York State is seeking a Hot Tub Technician to service clients on-site, install equipment, and perform repairs in the field and in-store as needed. You will travel to client homes, diagnose issues, and ensure systems operate safely and reliably.

You will troubleshoot leaks, replace failed components such as topside controllers, heat exchangers, circuit boards and spa packs, and document work carefully while maintaining professional communication with customers and vendors.

Qualifications

Job Description

Hot Tub Technician must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. They predominantly work on the field (will go to a client's home to install hot tub equipment and or make repairs) but also in the store. To work as a service technician, you must troubleshoot and repair problems. Common problems are leaks (plumbing) and exchanging failed equipment such as topside controllers, heat exchangers, circuit boards and spa packs (electrical work). You must be good at time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills are vital since you will be working closely with clients, the service department and manufacturers. Professionalism, courtesy and industry knowledge are of upmost importance! We will invest and train prospective candidates.

Responsibilities

• Install hot tub parts; and test them to ensure they are working correctly
• Educate the client on how to use and maintain their hot tub
• Perform maintenance and provide customer support
• Diagnose problems and offer solutions to repair them
• Order parts needed for repairs
• Fill out detailed reports and keep records on services that have been performed
• Explain issues with equipment and repairs to customers
• Build and maintain relationships with customers

Qualifications

• Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment
• Must be able to read blueprints and diagrams
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
• Working knowledge of the equipment needed for the job
• Ability to work independently without much supervision
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
• Driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to effectively manage time
