Job summary

Nucor is seeking a crane operator to move loads with cranes, electromagnets, and related equipment. You will inspect and adjust components to prevent malfunctions, determine load weights, and ensure loads stay within lifting capacities.

Routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic repairs on cables, pulleys and grappling devices are also part of the role. Safety is the top priority; candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow safety policies and pass a depth perception test before assuming the

Qualifications

At least 1 year experience running a crane that handles liquid steel.
Ability to work in a demanding environment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime as required.
Selected candidate must pass a depth perception test prior to assuming crane position.

Responsibilities

Operate cranes and related equipment to move, lift and place loads.
Inspect and adjust crane components to prevent malfunctions or damage.
Determine load weights and verify against lifting capacities to avoid overload.
Clean, lubricate and maintain or repair cables, pulleys, and grappling devices.
Operate in a cab or remotely to service designated areas (EAF/LMF/CCM/Refractory) as required.
