The role requires 1 year of liquid steel crane experience, physical strength to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of crane operation experience handling liquid steel
• Ability to work in a demanding environment
• Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime
• Pass depth perception test before assuming crane position
• Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes, electromagnets, or other moving equipment to lift, move, or place loads
• Inspect and help adjust crane parts to prevent malfunctions or damage
• Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload
• Assist with cleaning, lubricating, maintaining, and repairing cables, pulleys, grappling devices
• Operate a cab or remote crane to service the EAF, LMF, VTD, CCM, and Refractory areas
• Uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards
