Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) invites applications for the Hot Cell Design Mechanical Engineering Intern – Summer 2027. You will join the MFC Facility and System Engineering team to help design remote-handling equipment for hot cells, troubleshoot equipment, and assist with qualification testing in the mock-up shop.

This internship follows a 4x10 onsite schedule at MFC; start date and duration vary by project and student availability.

Qualifications

• Must be an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering.
• GPA ≥ 3.0.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (CPT/OPT).
• Current resume or CV.
• Unofficial transcripts (include current and completed degree programs).
• Current class schedule and number of credits.

Responsibilities

• Design remote-handling equipment for use in hot cells at MFC.
• Troubleshoot facility equipment.
• Assist with qualification testing in the mock-up shop.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (in progress)
