Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Nuclear Remote Systems Engineer to develop, operate, and maintain remotely operated mechanical systems in hot-cell environments. You will collaborate with researchers, technicians, and scientists across the equipment lifecycle from concept through fabrication oversight and long-term configuration management.

The role requires designing innovative remote handling equipment, adapting commercial hardware for radiation environments, and performing verification

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in mechanical, electrical, or nuclear engineering or related field with required experience.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DOE L clearance.
• Experience in development testing, electro-mechanical design, fabrication support, mock-up qualification testing, installation support.

Responsabilités

• Develop and operate remotely operated process equipment for hot-cell and glove-box applications.
• Provide engineering solutions for specialized equipment design challenges.
• Design and develop new remote handling processes and equipment; modify and adapt existing systems.
• Install and qualify new PIE and test equipment/instrumentation; support procurement and scheduling as needed.
• Serve as technical interface between nuclear facility, researchers, projects and programs.
