Job summary

The Lodge at Whitefish Lake is seeking a friendly Host to join our Food & Beverage team. You will greet guests, manage reservations, escort guests to tables, and help maintain a welcoming lakefront atmosphere.

This is a full-time role with emphasis on customer experience and professional presentation. Responsibilities include managing the seating flow, answering guest inquiries, and supporting front-of-house staff during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the FOH team and managers to ensure smooth service.

Be the welcoming face of our lakefront restaurant. TheBoat Club is a refined, low-lit restaurant overlooking surrounding mountainsand Whitefish Lake. You will set a tone and standard of upscale hospitalityfrom the moment our guests reserve and arrive. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE:

To present a positive first impression of friendliness,excellent service, and high standards. To greet all guests upon arrival anddeparture with a smile and bid guest farewell as they leave. Remember you arethe first and last impression.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintaina cheerful, courteous disposition, and a neat professional image.
• Welcomeguests upon arrival with enthusiastic engagement.
• Reservationmanagement.
• Escortguest as soon as possible to appropriate table.
• Managewaiting guests, encouraging them to have a drink in the bar till theirtable is ready.
• Maintaina professional working relationship with employees and guests.
• Practiceproper phone etiquette, and clear communication.
• Handlegift card transactions.
• Performsreservations call-backs.
• Maintaintidy and clean host/hostess area and foyer.
• Designatestable assignments.
• Escortsguest to assigned table. Make the guest feel welcome, maybe engage in abrief conversation. Do Not rush the guest and Do Not walk too fast for theguest.
• When sittingat the table, pull the chairs out for ladies and hand the menus to theguest. Do not place the menu on the table or the chair.
• Rememberit is your job to control the flow of the restaurant. Keep calm andnotify the Manager if anything should arise.
• Notifiesmanager of unhappy guests.
• Inspectrestrooms for cleanliness and call the front desk for cleaning.
• Bidsfarewell to departing guests.
• Performsassigned side work duties.
• Assistsmanagers as directed.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

Requirements:

• Abilityto use Open Table system.
• Abilityto stand and walk for 6-to-8-hour shifts.
• Abilityto work weekends, events, and holidays, as needed.
• Ableto hear guest order and requests amidst loud background noise.
• Maintainexpected level of personal appearance and hygiene consistent with The BoatClub's for Front-of-House (FOH) image.
• May berequired to assist service staff during peak periods, such as wateringtables, clearing, and resetting tables, if needed.
• Ableto manage unsatisfactory guest experience.
