Job summary

The Lodge at Whitefish Lake seeks friendly Hosts to join our Food & Beverage team. You will greet guests, manage reservations, escort guests to tables, and help maintain an upscale, welcoming atmosphere at our lakefront restaurant.

This role includes working with the Boat Club staff and offering excellent guest experience. We provide perks like discounted room rates ($50) at our properties and discounts at spa, restaurant, and retail.

Qualifications

• Ability to use Open Table system.
• Ability to stand and walk for 6-to-8-hour shifts.
• Ability to work weekends, events, and holidays, as needed.
• Able to hear guest orders amid background noise.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene for FOH image.
• May assist service staff during peak periods.

The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, one of Montana's AAA Four Diamond resorts, is seeking a Hosts to work with our Food & Beverage Team $20 hourly + Tips. Be the welcoming face of our lakefront restaurant. The Boat Club is a refined, low-lit restaurant overlooking surrounding mountains and Whitefish Lake. You will set a tone and standard of upscale hospitality from the moment our guests reserve and arrive. All employees receive perks of $50 rooms at any of our properties, and discount rates at our spa, restaurant, and retail.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE

To present a positive first impression of friendliness, excellent service, and high standards. To greet all guests upon arrival and departure with a smile and bid guest farewell as they leave. Remember you are the first and last impression.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a cheerful, courteous disposition, and a neat professional image.
• Welcome guests upon arrival with enthusiastic engagement.
• Reservation management.
• Escort guest as soon as possible to appropriate table.
• Manage waiting guests, encouraging them to have a drink in the bar till their table is ready.
• Maintain a professional working relationship with employees and guests.
• Practice proper phone etiquette, and clear communication.
• Handle gift card transactions.
• Performs reservations call-backs.
• Maintain tidy and clean host/hostess area and foyer.
• Designates table assignments.
• Escorts guest to assigned table. Make the guest feel welcome, maybe engage in a brief conversation. Do Not rush the guest and Do Not walk too fast for the guest.
• When sitting at the table, pull the chairs out for ladies and hand the menus to the guest. Do not place the menu on the table or the chair.
• Remember it is your job to control the flow of the restaurant. Keep calm and notify the Manager if anything should arise.
• Notifies manager of unhappy guests.
• Inspect restrooms for cleanliness and call the front desk for cleaning.
• Bids farewell to departing guests.
• Performs assigned side work duties.
• Assists managers as directed.
