Job summary

AC Hotel Portsmouth's Rooftop at the Envio, a Colwen Hotels Property, is seeking friendly Hosts to join our team. You will greet guests, provide accurate wait times, manage reservations, escort guests to dining areas, and hand menus while introducing servers. Maintain a clean reception and assist staff as needed.

Ideal candidates have superb interpersonal skills, ability to operate a POS system, and a flexible 7-day schedule including nights and holidays. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to solve problems.
• Ability to operate point-of-sale system.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work with a team.
• Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
• Previous experience as a host or server preferred.
• Ability to work 7-day rotational schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Description

AC Hotel Portsmouth's Rooftop at the Envio, a Colwen Hotels Property, is seeking friendly and engaging Hosts to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests to the restaurant, providing accurate wait times, and escorting guests to their dining area.

General Responsibilities:

• Acknowledge and welcome each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly greeting (use guest name whenever possible).
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.
• Manage reservations.
• Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas.
• Provide menus and announce server's name.
• Greet and thank guests upon their departure.
• Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options.
• Maintain a clean reception area.
• Cater to guests who require extra attention.
• Answer incoming calls and address guest queries.
• Assist Servers as needed.
• Assist with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, you may required to perform a variety or duties in multiple departments during a shift.
