Job summary

Rio Las Vegas is seeking a friendly Cashier/Host to warmly greet guests, handle cash transactions accurately, and seat guests promptly to ensure a positive dining experience. In this role you will be the restaurant's first and last impression, support the service team, manage cash, and uphold our standards and menu knowledge.

Candidates must be 21+, possess good communication skills, and present a neat, professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a prompt and courteous manner and thank them upon departure.
• Determine the number in a party, accurately post transaction on cash register, and make appropriate change.
• Seat as quickly as possible. If there is a waiting period, ensure the guest has maximum comfort at all times.
• Properly rotate server stations when seating guests (requires knowledge of server abilities).
• Assist service staff in making certain tables are cleared and cleaned after each use and are set properly. Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
• Fill condiments as needed.
• Answer telephones using proper phone etiquette as described in CET standards.
• Count out cash drawer at end of shift.
• Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment.
• Ensure all Rio Hotel & Casino core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
• Must regularly lift and/move up to 25 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
