Job summary

Rio Las Vegas is seeking a friendly Busperson to support the dining room, assist Food Servers and Captains, and ensure guests have a seamless dining experience in a fast-paced hotel setting.

You will set and reset tables, polish glassware, clear and stock stations, and help with coffee service while maintaining a neat, professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year F&B bussing experience.
• Effective communication in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Set and reset all tables before and after shift.
• Keep dining areas clean and free of debris.
• Polish all glassware as necessary.
• Assist Food Servers in service of bottled water.
• Maintain tables during service and clear dishes between courses.
• Stock side stations with linen and glassware.
• Serve and explain bread to guests after cocktails.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The primary responsibility of the Busperson is to provide prompt, courteous service to restaurant patrons and ensure guests are satisfied with their dining experience by assisting Food Servers and Captains as necessary. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Make sure that all tables are set completely both before and after shift.
• Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
• Polish all glassware as necessary.
• Assist Food Servers in service of complimentary bottled water.
• Maintain tables throughout service, clearing dishes between courses and empty glassware as necessary.
• Clearing and scraping all dishes in the side stations after clearing a table.
• Stock all side stations with linen and proper glassware.
• Service and explanation of bread to guests, after cocktails are served by the captain.
• Maintain professional demeanor throughout service, assisting servers and captains as necessary.
• Change tablecloth and reset tables as quickly as possible after guests leave the restaurant.
• Service of Coffee and Hot tea.
• Move tables throughout the dining room in order to be able to set up and accommodate need of the reservations.
• Carry multiple dishes (up to 6 at one time) in one hand without tray service.
• Shifts may vary based on business needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Work requires a minimum of 1 year F&B bussing experience.
• Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
• Must present a neat and professional appearance.
• Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
• Work requires teamwork with other staff members.
• Work requires an attention to detail.
• Work requires a strong understanding of gourmet dining atmosphere.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
• Must regularly lift and/move up to 25 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust, and smoke.
